Questions About Baptizing Your Child

Each child who expresses faith in Jesus Christ and asks to be baptized is required to attend Kid Faith (our children’s new believer class) with at least one parent. This class is scheduled on a monthly basis. Should our Children’s Pastor have any concerns about a child’s level of understanding, the parents will be contacted and asked to postpone their child’s baptism until the child understands this vital decision clearly.

  • Following Kid Faith, each child meets with a staff member to discuss their salvation before they are baptized.

  • On such a special occasion, obviously parents should do their best to be present at their child’s baptism. At a minimum, we do require at least one guardian to be present before a child will be baptized.

  • Recognizing that baptism is an ordinance of the church, our baptisms are held in the Worship Center or in our Kid’s Worship Theatre.

The overwhelming majority of families choose for their child to be baptized in the Worship Center during a worship service. To verify this, since September 2005, almost seventy children have placed their faith in Christ and followed Him in baptism and only three of these have chosen to be baptized in our Kid’s Theatre.
